It’s really important to have positive speak running through you mind.  If you catch yourself thinking negatively about yourself, others, your situation…. try replacing it with positive.  The positive can actually be the way you’d like it to be.  “Today’s going to be a GREAT day!!”  “This Christmas shopping is going to be FUN!   Look at the beautiful decorations and listen to the fun music!”  “Lunch with ______ is going to be extra special today.”  The positivity will help to set the tone for whatever’s going on.  Give it a try this week.  Pay attention to what you’re thinking about and turn the negative into positive.

control your own hapiness 1-=5=15Do your emotions ebb and flow like the ocean?  Up one minute, down the next?

I have a friend that is ALWAYS cheerful.  It’s a choice she makes.  Yes she’s been blessed with much, but we are close enough that I know, everything isn’t peachy keen all the time.  She lights up a room when she walks in.  She’s always smiling, greeting people with sincere excitement to see them, she cares!

I know I’ve talked about this before but it really boils down to choosing to dwell on the positive things in your life and what you have to be thankful for.  If you feel your mood plummeting ask yourself, what am I thinking about, what am I allowing to drag me down.  Another thing that’s important is taking care of yourself.  If you take care of yourself – mind, body and soul, making those choices will be easier.  Give yourself time to breath and enjoy a walk, gardening, light a candle, wear a special perfume, make a date with a special friend for some girl time.  Take time to feed your soul!!

Making a conscious effort to change your thought process will get easier and easier.  We can train our mind to dwell on the positive.  Look for the “thankfuls”.  The more you make the conscious choice, the more your brain will just go there on its own.

dont ruin today - 5-17-15

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!

Have you ever had a bad day?  We all have haven’t we!  Does a bad day turn into a few bad days …. a week?  Sometimes it can be so difficult to move on from a bad day.  It lingers into the following days when it doesn’t need to.  It’s so helpful to treat each day as a new start, a clean slate a do over!

Put the troubles of yesterday out of your mind.  Start your morning with something positive, set your day up for success with positive thoughts, uplifting music a chat with a special friend that will be an encouragement to you, whatever nourishes your soul.  You can set the tone for your day.

How will you choose to start your days?  Make them GREAT!!

kind words echo 8-26-13

Have you experienced the echoes of kind words?  I sure have.  They weren’t anything profound or elaborate, they were just words spoken at the right time that kept coming to mind over and over again.  Words that made me smile.  Words I needed to hear.  Words that made an impact.

We never know what effect a few simple words can have on someone’s day, let alone their life!  Make them positive and uplifting.

side note ~  this just made me smile ~  I think it’s positive?!?!  I’ve been told by my beginning quilting students that they hear my voice when they are at their cutting tables cutting away……”DON’T FORGET TO CLOSE YOUR CUTTER!”

So…….I think that’s a good thing but not exactly what Mother Teresa had in mind!  Hopefully I’ve spoken other words that are echoing out there!
