Monday’s Motivations

Sorry for the absence ~ Holidays, being out of town ….. lots kept me from posting.  But I’m back and ready to get back in the groove!  How are you?  How were your holidays?  Good I hope and looking forward to a new year.

looking 1-11-16

As we begin a new year there’s lots of reflection and planning for the future.  Both are good but we can become obsessive about it.  Getting stuck in the past, which cannot be changed, accomplishes nothing.  Focusing all our attention on the future can absolutely rob you of the present.

I loved the way the quote above puts this.  Suggesting our looks back and forward are done in a healthy way.  We need to plant ourselves in the present, being grateful and living a life where we extend grace and love to ourselves and others.

I hope and pray as you enter 2016 that you are hopeful and expectant of a year full of Joy and Love.

Thanks for visiting!

Monday’s Motivation

it's not in the presents 12-7-15OK – true confession time.  Do you ever reach a point during the Christmas season when you think, HELP, I can’t do all this?  If you’re answer is yes, I’m with you.  Every year I think, next year will be different.  I’ll start earlier, I’ll keep it simple, I’ll delegate ….. but every year I still seem to have that moment (or day (s) ).  But it’s all good/fun stuff I tell myself.  I’m doing it for others …..

I celebrate Christmas because it’s the day our world has chosen to celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He loves me, guides me, extends amazing grace to me, fills me with joy,  gives me hope, none of which I deserve.  He’s chosen me and you, all we have to do is accept that love and believe!!

Soooo if I share that Love, the love of the Lord, that’s what truly matters.  If the decorations are beautiful, that’s just an extra.  If the presents get wrapped, great!  If dinner doesn’t burn, fantastic!!  None of those things matter if they’re not done out of love, with a happy and joyful heart!  If there’s a little dust here and there, and that extra plate of cookies isn’t made, it’s OK as long as I’ve loved those I’ve been in contact with throughout the season.

I hope you don’t feel preached at!!  You really just joined me for a sermon for myself!  I’m going to make loving, my number one priority these last couple weeks before Christmas.  It truly is, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Monday’s Motivation

do in love 6-28-15

It’s been quite a week in this ol’ world of ours hasn’t it?  The anger and hatred that we see exhibited on the news lately is alarming to say the least.  Do you ever ask yourself where it’s coming from?  I do – I don’t understand it, and would never think to assume I could figure it all out but I think at least some of it seems to come from a lack of acceptance.  Accepting the fact that it’s ok if we don’t see eye to eye on things.  Whether it be religion, politics, morality …….

I’ve run into this quote a couple times lately and think it sums up what I’m talking about ~

(I’m sorry I don’t know the origin of the quote)

Our culture has accepted two huge lies.

#1 ~ If you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them.

#2 ~ To love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do.

Both are nonsense.  You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

Praying for a week of love and compassion in our world ~ one heart at a time.

Monday’s Motivation

Sorry for the absence last Monday!  I’m having HUGE computer issues, that are continuing – so hoping I can put this together successfully.  In my business I’m pretty dependent on my computer and when it’s not working properly or I can’t get to files, it’s a big problem.  Hoping it’s fixed soon!!

We have the choice of how we choose to live our lives.

living life 3-8-15

Choosing who to surround ourselves with is a crucial step in life.  If we’re surrounded by drama & negativity, that’s what life will be full of.  Make the choice to be around people who are positive, uplifting and treat you right.  Focus on the good and not the bad that is around you.   When we focus on problems, we have more problems.  When we focus on possibilities, they are more likely to become a reality.

Share love with those who treat you right.  Pray for those who don’t.  Prayer has a way of helping us forgive those who have wronged us.  It’s not easy but very healthy.

I like the final line in this quote - Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.  We all fall down.  We have to get up to keep moving forward in life.  Have you been knocked down?  Is it time to get up?  You can do it!  Analyze where your focus is, who you’re spending your time with, and pray, pray, pray – YOU CAN DO IT!!
