Hello from a VERY tired me! Quilt Market has ended today. The booths are all torn down and we’re exhausted. But I have lots more to show you so there’ll be a couple more posts.
I wanted to show you a few quilts from the quilt exhibit. They are BEYOND amazing!
Isn’t this amazing? The quilting is so creative and interesting!
I’m in love with these two dog quilts! The method used to create the images is called “micro applique”. This is a very simplified explanation, but slivers of fabric are laid out on the surface of the quilt (I would imagine it has fusible on the back or maybe they use a spray adhesive to hold the slivers in place while stitching) and then it is pretty solidly stitched over with thread. The thread color changes a lot! Anybody want to make one of Ella for me?
A whole cloth quilt that was simply SPECTACULAR! This quilt is only about 50″ square but the amount of stitching on it was stunning!

More mini’s from Carrie.
Our neighbors, Birch Fabrics. They had an adorable booth.
I’ll be back tomorrow with shots from the Moda booth and designers.
Have you ever done a pictorial quilt? Is it on your list of quilts/techniques to try?
Thanks for visiting!
