It’s been quite a week in this ol’ world of ours hasn’t it? The anger and hatred that we see exhibited on the news lately is alarming to say the least. Do you ever ask yourself where it’s coming from? I do – I don’t understand it, and would never think to assume I could figure it all out but I think at least some of it seems to come from a lack of acceptance. Accepting the fact that it’s ok if we don’t see eye to eye on things. Whether it be religion, politics, morality …….
I’ve run into this quote a couple times lately and think it sums up what I’m talking about ~
(I’m sorry I don’t know the origin of the quote)
Our culture has accepted two huge lies.
#1 ~ If you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them.
#2 ~ To love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do.
Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.
Praying for a week of love and compassion in our world ~ one heart at a time.
Do you talk and talk and talk about your problems and challenges? Why do we do that? sympathy? To knock someone else down? We’re obsessing over the problem? Does it make us feel better to hash it over and over again? Not usually. It feels overwhelming and like we’re stalled in the mire of the issue. Some seem to thrive on the drama of it all. The “whoa is me” syndrome. Of course talking about a problem with a trusted friend/mentor that can help give perspective or just listen is sometimes necessary but not the OVER and OVER again – rehashing of the issue.
Change your FOCUS and put Joy in your heart and life.
When you’re tempted to rehash, talk about the problem ONE MORE TIME with ONE MORE PERSON just think …….. “do I really want to be stuck here”? Instead, share the joy/positive things in your life. As you purpose to be positive and put your focus on the positive, the problems of life become smaller and seem to inhabit less of our life.
I’ve always loved this quote!! The encouragement to not let life stall but to make the very best of where you’re at each day. It’s so easy to put life on hold, waiting for ……… don’t wait! We must make the most of each day. It may be raining, pouring or downright storming but hang in there and dance, Dance, DANCE!!! It’ll make the journey better.
I hope you dance all week!
