Monday’s Motivation

How was your weekend?  I hope you got to do something special!  I had a VERY full one.  Busy, busy and full of fun.

It began with a football game my 5 year old grandson was playing in.  5 year old football is the BEST!  They are so cute.  Some times, they have no idea what they’re doing.  I’m proud to say, my little 5 year old scored a pretty impressive touchdown!  :-)

Amber taught a class in the studio on the sewing caddy’s we have in the studio.  It’s always so much fun seeing how everyone’s projects turn out.  They were all fabulous.  Did you see them on Facebook?  Here’s a link if you didn’t.  Be sure and “like” the Sweet Treasures page if you haven’t already.  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sweet-Treasures-Quilt-Patterns/150129211668099?hc_location=timeline

I finished off the weekend with about 20 family members here for a birthday dinner for my Mom.  It was a special evening, celebrating how much she means to us.

Happy Birthday MOM!!

Now shifting gears to the Monday’s Motivation ~

Have you ever felt affected by something someone did to you?  I don’t mean feeling hurt or angry but affected in a way that it changed your perception of yourself?  It’s easy for that to happen when someone attacks your character, spreads rumors about you or you’re in a situations where you’re constantly being put down.  What is your response when this happens?  It’s hard to stay positive and stand up for yourself – but you must.  Look at it this way – No one else can define who you are, except you.  How do you want to be known?  Actions ALWAYS speak louder than words.  You will be defined by your actions so SHOW others who you are.  Don’t allow someone else to define you.

I’m back! Monday’s Motivation

Sorry for the absence last Monday!  Our new website went up and the blog went down.  I knew there’d be a few kinks to work out but didn’t expect that!!  More on the website in the next couple of days!

be all there 9-21-14

With the busyness of work, family, meetings, appointments, social media……. we can tend to feel a bit fragmented.  We pride ourselves in the ability to multitask  and accomplish a lot but at the expense of what?  I’ve discovered that when I’m “All There”, wherever I am or whatever I’m doing, I do a better job, those around me feel better about the experience they’ve just had with me, and I feel better about EVERYTHING!

Not feeling like you have time, and doing something “half way” is really frustrating to me.  I’d rather do fewer things and do them well.  It takes discipline to determine your priorities and limit yourself accordingly.   That’s my challenge!  Another blogger was writing about “Margins” one day and it really struck home for me.  We need to create “Margins” in every day.  You know, not packing our days solid so we have a buffer.  If something comes up that has to be taken care of, we don’t feel like our day’s blown up!!  Or we can be spontaneous and do something special for someone or come to their aid.  You get the picture?  Trust me – I’m giving myself a little pep talk here!

Do you have any tips on ways you accomplish being “All There”?  I’d love to hear them!

Thanks for visiting!

Thanks & Monday’s Motivation

First ~ thanks to all of you who came to the open house on Saturday!!  I appreciate your support and encouragement so much!  We had an amazing turn out!  We were soooo busy.  I’m sorry if I didn’t get to visit with you personally.  And can you believe I didn’t take one picture?  There was not time and then it was over!  Hope you enjoyed your time at the studio!

the situation

Complaining…….  It’s hard not to complain sometimes.  Complaining comes from frustration.  When we complain all it does is reinforce the frustration.  It prolongs the issue and is not ever productive.  Why waste the time?

Choose not to be the victim.  Step back and evaluate what’s going on.  Should you leave the situation, could you change it, or do you need to accept it.  Just because you accept it doesn’t mean you have to be happy with it or agree with it ~ it means you’ve realized it’s something you have to make peace with.  Move on and don’t obsess over it. Focus on the positive that is going on in your life and around you.  You will be happier and healthier for it.

Have a happy week!
