Just had to share!

hospitality ebook

This morning I stumbled upon Edie’s wonderful blog!  What an inspiration and delight she is.  I enjoyed the little bit I read so much that I wanted to share it with you.  She is a lover of God, humble, funny, happy, real…….  the list goes on.  Actually makes me feel pretty inadequate as a blogger but I know she’d have encouraging words for me!

She has just released this ebook that I’m downloading toot sweet!!  I think it will be incredible.  Click on the picture for info about the ebook and read a little on her blog.  I know you’ll be hooked very quickly just like I was!

Have a great day everybody ~ Hugs!

Hearts on Parade!

Well Valentines Day is quickly approaching so I thought I’d have a little parade of heart quilts, just for fun (I promise, the organizing your stash ideas are coming).  I haven’t done a new heart quilt for awhile but still love the others and the patterns are still available.

Antique Heart

Charmed Hearts

A little 17″ x 20″ walhanging made from a charm pack a a couple fat quarters.  The layered hearts have a softly scalloped, raw edge giving a little ruffle effect.

My Love

A lap size version of Charmed Hearts.  It also has the raw edge layered hearts.  This quilt gets better and better with washing!  The edges of the hearts ruffle and look so great.  54″ x 63″.  Click on the picture for a closer look at the color version you like.

Hearts of Love

Hearts of Love is not on the website but if you’d like a copy email me through the contact me button under my bio on the right side bar.

Hearts of Love was the second pattern I wrote, 8 years ago.  I still love this pattern.  We used it for our project in the Home Dec. Club this month.  Here’s a few of the wallhangings made by students.

Mary's Hearts of Love

Mary’s firey hearts in batiks with a touch of black!

Shirley's Hearts of Love

Shirley’s so sweet in pink!

Sue's Hearts of Love

Sue’s chocolate hearts!

Laura's Hearts of Love 2

Linda’s girly valentine! Sorry about the blur.  Note the fussy cut letters in the cornerstone L O V E.

Do you decorate for Valentines Day?  I do ~ a little.  A few quilts, some hearts and a few things in vignettes that are valentiney plus a little Heart sign at the door.

What do you do for Valentines Day?

Laugh Lots!

This is the last post of our New Years sign series and the last post to comment on for the Blog Giveaway.  The contest ends tomorrow evening and I will be announcing the winner on Sunday the 12th.

The last inspiration on the sign is LAUGH LOTS!  I love laughing with people.

Sam and Joe

Sam and Joe

These guys make me laugh!  We have so much fun together.  Sam and I were laughing SO HARD together the other evening just being silly!!   And Joe has this contagious little chuckle.  It’s sooooo cute.  He’s the happiest little guy.

Ella under the tree

My sweet Ella makes me laugh every day!!  She is my first dog and I never would have dreamed how much I would love her and how much fun we would have together.  She’s growing up to be such a great little companion.

So I know grandbabies and puppies are easy to Laugh with.  What about those times it’s hard to laugh.  Maybe all you feel like doing is crying.  A few years ago when my grandfather lost my grandmother, the love of his life for 68 years, his health and his independence in one feel swoop it was tough.  He moved in with my parents because his health was failing and he couldn’t live alone.  My mom tried her best to be upbeat and care for my grandpa.  One thing she did was to get some of the old I Love Lucy shows on DVD for them to watch together.  They are pretty hysterical!  They laughed and laughed at those shows.  It was such good therapy for all of them.

There are times in life when laughing comes easily and other times when it’s absent.  Be proactive about bringing laughter into your life.  It’s good for the soul.

What makes you laugh?  Is there something you do to intentionally bring laughter into your home?

I hope you all have a good laugh today!
